By "learned very much", to me that is one summer vacation with much more dedication towards my life as a musician. =)

And actually, the really original melody was nothing more than the small two-piano bridge you hear before the MIDI solos. Yes, that was it; everything else was original, including the verses and the chorus.

Also, I have not given up MIDI composing; not by a long shot. I actually have much more original content in MIDI than I have in MP3. They're not publicly available though. ^^'

Heh, I know exactly what you mean! It seems like the fact that you reviewed my works from "Outbreak [ELITE ReMaster]" up to TCA allowed you to hear my overall "history" of my one summer vacation's efforts into composing. =)

I mentioned that I'm a MIDI composer, then moved on with DAWs and started working my way up until finally I have this: my current setup and style that I've been sticking to; and it works well!

"Trump Card Alteisen" is the first of its kind, followed by songs like "Last Showdown" and the rest. By now I've learned how to get a good sound out of my style even when limited with sample-based instruments and VST. The band and the orchestra finally blended together in just the way I wanted it to blend. That would explain why it's the song I linked to on my (currently) only News post and the fact that it's my most popular song.

With that, I thank you for the 6 reviews that you've given me FrEzil! I'm glad you enjoyed my work and only hope that my future ones will be as awesome. ^^

Well, it reminds people of different things I guess/ Someone got reminded of that "Top Gun" airplane movie, you got reminded of "Virtua Fighter". All I had in my head was literally what I said: a plane landing.

Too bad you found it long though. I tried to remove some of the repetitiveness of the refrain by adding the squares. Worked for others but everyone I see ^^' At least you still found it epic XD

Yep, it's 8-Bit FrEzil. 8-Bit! *wink wink nudge nudge* XD

This time around, I wasn't randomly making 8-bit harmonies; this was where I was taking it seriously. I intended to mimic the original Cave Story track by using 8-Bit, and then surprising people by adding in my style as a transition. I think it worked :D Also, I guess I should be sorry for not letting you give me constructive criticism...? o_o'

Extra Trivia:
By this point, I was very close to grasping the sound I wanted. It took me time to realize the "Unbroken Dream" and "Return Flight" wasn't exactly perfect in overall quality, so this was in the middle of my old setup and my new one. It's a stepping stone :o

Voice acting in this song? Hmm, I personally think that won't work ^^'

If you're gonna talk about my genre of music and composing, even I cannot directly describe it in any other way but "video game with power metal influences". That can't be right, but can't be wrong either. See, even I, as the composer, find it hard to put my music in a genre XD

Also, I expected a lot of people who listened to my newer works complain about quality in this song, since this was one of my first steps into the style I have today. It's good that you aren't one of them and hear this song for what it truly is =)

Extra Trivia: The original MIDI is one of my very first MIDI compositions (actually, the 2nd ever). It was codenamed "Broken Dream" (see what I did there? XD) and has pretty much the same set of instruments as this remix, except that the ending's different and the tempo's slower. It is called "Midology Episode 1 - Mid Evolution" (as part of a tribute to my favorite band's Sidology triolgy) and is available for download at the blog link posted in my comments.

Yes, this song was half-joke and half-serious. Half a joke since I created it out of boredom. Half-serious since people making odd happy Flash animations may find this useful.

If you're not happy with 8-bit, you may want to check out the other song I mentioned in my description, "Trump Card Alteisen". You'll see that I'm not actually an 8-bit audio artist. ^^
